Your file is yours. Here is exactly what we do with it.

We are a small service that reads old government records about people who died long ago. We collect very little, we keep it briefly, we never sell it, and this page says so in plain language.

1. Who we are

The company, and how to reach us

A Soldier's Life Reports is operated by Double Doodle LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company. For anything about your information, write to soldiersreports@gmail.com. A person reads that mailbox.

2. What we collect

Only what the work needs

  • If you join the waitlist: your name, your email address, which records you are interested in, whether you have the file yet, and anything you choose to add, such as a soldier's name and unit, a note, or a referral code.
  • If you place an order: your name, your email address, the report type and edition you chose, the name of the soldier, your order reference, and any note you send with it.
  • The file you upload: the military record you want read. Nearly always this is a public government record about a person who died more than a century ago.
  • Correspondence: the emails we exchange with you.

We do not collect your card number; payment is handled entirely by Stripe, and we see only that a payment succeeded and its reference. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not collect anything from you that the work above does not need.

3. How we use it

To make your report, and for nothing else

We use what you give us to produce and deliver your report, to honor the guarantee if you call on it, to answer your questions, to tell you when a record type you asked about opens, and to keep the order records a business is required to keep. That is the list. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use your file or your report for any purpose beyond the order you placed.

4. Who handles it

The services that touch your information

A few outside services are involved in running this site and producing a report. Each one sees only what its part of the work requires.

  • Anthropic. The file you upload, with the details of your order, is sent to Anthropic's Claude model to produce the report. This is the AI analysis every report is built on. It is done under Anthropic's commercial terms of service, which do not permit Anthropic to use your file to train its models.
  • Stripe processes payments. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us.
  • Formspree receives the waitlist and contact forms on this site and passes them to us.
  • Netlify hosts this site and, like any web host, keeps ordinary server logs.
  • Our email provider carries the emails we exchange with you, including the delivery of your report.

We do not share your information with anyone else, and we do not transfer it to anyone for their own use.

5. How long we keep it

Thirty days for the file, then it is gone

We keep the file you uploaded and the report we built from it for thirty days after delivery, so that we can honor the guarantee: a re-run needs the file. After thirty days both are deleted from our systems. If you want them deleted sooner, tell us, and we will do it and confirm.

We keep the basic record of the order itself (who ordered what, when, and the payment reference) for as long as tax and accounting law require a business to keep it. Waitlist entries are kept until you ask to be removed or the waitlist closes.

6. Your choices

Ask, and it is done

You can ask us at any time to delete your file, your report, your waitlist entry, or our correspondence with you, or to tell you what we hold. Write to soldiersreports@gmail.com and we will act on it and confirm. The only thing we cannot delete on request is the order record the law requires us to keep.

7. Cookies and analytics

No advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It is cookieless: it sets no cookies, collects no personal data, and does no cross-site tracking or fingerprinting, which is why this site shows you no cookie banner. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site trackers here.

8. Security

Where your file lives

Uploaded files and finished reports are kept on our own equipment, not in a shared cloud store, and they travel to the services above only over encrypted connections. Our records are not public, and customer files never appear in any sample or publication without a separate written consent.

9. Children

Not for children

This site and its services are not directed at anyone under thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

When this page changes

If we change this policy, we will change the date at the top of this page and, for any change that matters, say what changed. Questions: soldiersreports@gmail.com.
